it blows my mind that something with all these moving parts, with such tight tolerances, moving at an ungodly number of RPMs runs so perfectly 99.99999% of the time.

I make parts for transmissions. I've been to multiple transmission factories. Still think its witchcraft. And I make godamned parts for the stupid things!

Funny you mention that. I came across a guy with a 2006 Chevy stalled at a light near my house. His transmission had died, leaving a nice pool of ATF on the road. I helped push him around the corner so he wasn't blocking traffic.
